Dr. Xing He is a lecturer in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Henan Normal University. He earned his B.S. in 2013 from Xinlian College, Henan Normal University, followed by an M.S. from the same institution in 2016. He completed his Ph.D. in 2020 at Nankai University under the supervision of Prof. Liang-Nian He. Dr. He’s research interests lie in the photochemical transformation of CO2 and photocatalysis, with a strong focus on sustainable chemical processes. He has contributed significantly to the development of methods utilizing solar energy to enhance chemical reactions, such as CO2 fixation and radical annulation reactions. He has published 33 journal articles and holds 18 patents, showcasing his innovative approach in green chemistry. Dr. Xing He completed his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree at Xinlian College, Henan Normal University, in 2013. He continued his academic journey at Henan Normal University, obtaining his Master of Science (M.S.) degree in 2016. Driven by his passion for sustainable chemistry, he pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Nankai University, under the mentorship of Prof. Liang-Nian He, graduating in 2020. Throughout his academic career, Dr. He has specialized in the field of photochemical transformation of CO2 and photocatalysis. His doctoral research laid the foundation for his continued focus on harnessing solar energy for CO2 fixation and the development of metal-free photocatalysis processes. This educational path has provided Dr. He with the technical expertise and in-depth understanding necessary to contribute meaningfully to the field of green chemistry. His studies have prepared him to innovate and advance sustainable chemical solutions to address global environmental challenges.

 Dr. Xing He’s research focuses on the photochemical transformation of CO2 and photocatalysis, aiming to develop sustainable and energy-efficient methods for CO2 utilization and the creation of valuable chemical products. His work explores the use of visible light to drive chemical reactions, particularly utilizing low-energy, green-light-triggered processes for organic synthesis, such as the radical annulation of α-keto acids and alkynes. By leveraging photocatalysts like Rhodamine 6G, Dr. He’s research has demonstrated efficient and eco-friendly methods to generate important compounds, like indenones, through metal-free processes. His other major research area involves CO2 fixation through photocatalytic processes, using solar energy to convert CO2 into useful chemicals, thereby addressing the challenges of carbon emissions and promoting a sustainable future. By combining photochemical techniques with innovative catalysts, Dr. He’s research contributes to the broader goals of environmental sustainability and green chemistry, making CO2 transformation more practical and efficient for industrial applications.
